WORLDMAKING FROM A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE:
A DIALOGUE WITH CHINA
從全球視閾看“世界”的建構:對話中國

Reading Group "Worldmaking"

The reading group takes place once a month during the summer and reads texts (primarily in English and Chinese) that deal with various aspects and approaches to worldmaking. The questions that guide through out the sessions are: How do various theories of worldmaking differ? How do you define worldmaking in your individual projects and in what way might your understanding of worldmaking be relevant for your colleagues and productive for the Joint Center as a team? What can we learn from each other’s approaches?

The meetings do not have a fixed reading list. Instead, project members and fellows are invited to make suggestions and are encouraged to actively shape the selection of readings. The sessions also provide an opportunity for the fellows at the different locations of the Center to connect and have an opportunity for exchange.

Dates in 2021: June 15, July 20, August 17, 16:15-17:45 CET

Moderation: Emily Mae Graf, postdoctoral researcher in the project "A Translingual Conceptual History of Chinese Worlds"
