Short Biography
Emily Tsui is a Master’s student in Transcultural Studies at the University of Heidelberg. Her main academic focus is Chinese Intellectual History. She is interested in understanding how we come to think in the way we think we do; what we owe to one another; and how to write good narratives (like this biography). At the moment, she is working on her thesis which explores narratives of mechanistic worldviews during the late Imperial and early Republican period in China. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Emily studied Philosophy in London & Paris; and worked in Hong Kong and Sydney before coming to Heidelberg.
